The Shala
Comme À La Maison
Comme À La Maison
Shala is a Sanskrit word that means ‘home’ ‘dwelling’ or ‘abode’. In the context of yoga, a shala is a studio or ‘house’ of yoga, most often associated with Ashtanga yoga. So a yoga shala is the place where the physical practice – asana – is taught, although it also provides a stimulating and supportive environment for yogis to meet, share their experiences and develop their practice.
CALM Yoga Studio (Comme À La Maison) is an extension of Patchi and Alexis’s homes. Once the stables of the Villa Mezzo Monte, a charming and especially peaceful spot on the hill above Cannes, CALM has its own private entrance and courtyard, a dedicated studio for practice, a changing room, shower and parking facilities.
The courtyard offers a space for a variety of cultural events: from Satsangs to open-air cinema, with showings of classic and yoga films; conferences, exhibitions and previews; and acoustic music sessions and performances for everyone to express their talent. There’s even a library of yoga books and videos available for our students.
We are at Boulevard du Montfleury 69, Cannes (there’s parking opposite).
